New Orleans family successfully working toward their tomorrow

Celestine low resNew Orleans mother Corrine Celestine and her two children are successfully working as a family toward their tomorrow. This family has the right opportunities today thanks to school choice.

“I’ve used school choice to my advantage. I have one child enrolled in a private school, and the other in a charter school,” said Corrine.

Older brother Nicholas has Asperger syndrome, a form of autism. He attends an area charter school that is fostering his unique talents.

Little sister Corissa participates in the Louisiana Scholarship Program, which gives her mother the tuition assistance she needs for Corissa to attend St. Mary’s Academy in New Orleans.

St. Mary’s Academy has a distinguished history of educating African-American students. “I wanted Corissa to be part of that legacy,” said Corrine.

“Any parent would be more than grateful to have this opportunity. You want to do the best that you can for your children.”
