Proposed charter school expansion to help children in Oklahoma

AFC encourages the Oklahoma City School Board to support the expansion of KIPP charter schools in Oklahoma City and offer more educational opportunity to the city’s students. KIPP currently runs a successful middle school in OKC, which had over 300 students enrolled for the 2015-16 school year.

“Oklahoma should embrace offering a wide array of educational options to its students so each and every child can access a world class education,” said Betsy DeVos, chairman of the American Federation for Children. “KIPP schools have had widespread success across the country and for the past 14 years with their school in Oklahoma City. The school board should support the expansion of these charter schools and all quality educational options for its students.”
