Good Morning

Congratulations to our friend RaeNell Houston, who was named superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She is the first African-American to hold the position. In an interview with The Advocate, Dr. Houston said she will continue the archdiocese’s commitment to low-income families, who currently receive help through the state’s voucher program and her office’s own scholarship programs.

The Louisiana special legislative session is now underway – nine days until a balanced budget – it’s all about the rainy day fund.

Have a great Valentine’s Day! – Paul
