Opportunity Scholarships Expanded in Nevada

Governor Brian Sandoval signed legislation which adds an additional $20 million to the tax credit scholarship program cap. This will bring the total cap over the next two years to $32 million. The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, released the following statement:

Statement from Tommy Schultz, National Communications Director for the American Federation for Children:

“Families in Nevada today are thankful for Governor Sandoval, Senate Minority Leader Michael Robertson, and Assemblyman Paul Anderson’s leadership in expanding educational choice today. The ceremonial signing of the Opportunity Scholarships expansion shows that these state leaders trust that parents know what is best. Nearly 4,000 more children from working-class and economically disadvantaged households will soon have further access to educational opportunities across the state, and we look forward to further expansions in the years to come.”
