Wisconsin School Choice Students Continue to Outperform Peers on ACT
For the second year in a row, newly released data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction shows that students in the three Parental Choice Programs are outperforming their peers on the ACT, regardless of income.
Statement from Justin Moralez of the American Federation for Children:
“We recognize that a student’s education experience is not ultimately defined by test scores alone, yet these results show a consistent trend that those in the involved in the choice programs are excelling in academics despite financial limitations. This is particularly notable because students involved in the Parental Choice Program are predominately low income and are still out scoring their full income counterparts. These results should be recognized as a win for all families and the entire concept of school choice.”
Below are the comparative data for the Parental Choice Programs around the state:
MPCP = Milwaukee Parental Choice Program
RPCP = Racine Parental Choice Program
WPCP = Wisconsin Parental Choice Program
