Louisiana Celebrates National School Choice Week

The Louisiana Federation for Children (LFC), the state’s voice for educational choice, announced a statewide celebration of educational choice in Louisiana during National School Choice Week, January 21 to January 27, 2018. National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child.

“We are excited to join families and schools across Louisiana in raising public awareness of the different K-12 education options available to children and families, while spotlighting the benefits of school choice,” said Ann Duplessis, president of the Louisiana Federation for Children.

“As we celebrate National School Choice Week, it’s worth thinking about the impact school choice has made in Louisiana over the past decade. Our success in transforming education epitomizes the progress school choice can make—and demonstrates why we should give all parents access to the quality education options they find best for their children.”

On Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 22 and 23, school leaders, parents, students, and teachers, joining community leaders at community breakfast/school tour events in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The week will be capped off with an All-Star Basketball Game in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Jan. 27.
