Louisiana House Advances ESA Legislation

The Louisiana House of Representatives advanced House Bill 33. The education savings account legislation by Rep. Phillip DeVillier passed with a 76-25 bipartisan vote. HB 33 creates an education savings account program for children in military and foster families, and those denied transfer requests from D and F public schools.

Debate was highlighted by an impassioned plea for passage from Rep. Jason Hughes. HB 33 moves to the Senate.
