Prospers find a safe haven for their son Genesis

Gerald and Shemane Prosper wanted a safe haven for their son Genesis, a bright 10-year-old 5th grader who loves baseball and wants to study engineering at LSU.
The Prospers were very concerned about New Orleans public schools.

“A lot of different things happen, with fighting and children bringing drugs and weapons to school,” said Shemane.

Genesis attends Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School in New Orleans. The Prospers are grateful for the opportunity provided by the Louisiana Scholarship Program.

“We were so happy when the program came along, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to afford to send him to a catholic school. The Louisiana Scholarship Program gives parents a choice of where they can send their kids.”
