Let’s follow some money—teachers’ union money. Have you wondered why opposition to charter schools moved to the top of the NAACP’s agenda? Dropout Nation documents the American Federation of Teachers 2016-2017 financial disclosure showing the civil rights organization received $155,000 from the LFT. The union contributed $15,000 to National Association of Black Journalists. Now I understand why an education town hall held in New Orleans during the organization’s national convention was essentially a one-sided anti-school choice town hall.
