Keep an eye on this: Louisiana charter school critics have formed a new coalition and are promoting an approach known as “community schools.” Earlier this month Debbie Meaux, president of the Louisiana Association of Educators, and Karran Harper Royal, coordinator for the Louisiana branch of the Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools, presented the model to Lafayette Parish school board members.
