Good Morning

Orleans Parish School Board member Cynthia Cade has been barred from seeking re-election Nov. 8. If the court ruling survives a possible appeal, Ethan Ashley, Cade’s only opponent, will win the seat. http://bit.ly/2akYzG7

The Louisiana Federation for Teachers is blasting the WalletHub review that ranked Louisiana’s public school system as last in nation. LFT interim president Larry Carter said ACT scores are low in part because all students, unlike most states, are required to take the exam, which measures college readiness. Sounds as if he’s not a fan of accountability. http://bit.ly/2avdIr9

LFC president Ann Duplessis on WWL-Radio discussing the impact to Louisiana families who were previously awarded scholarships and are now on a wait list, just days before the start of the new school year. http://la4children.wpengine.com/2016/08/ann-duplessis-wwl-radio-interview-8-2-2016/

Have a great day! – Paul
