The newly released public school performance report from the Louisiana Department of Education shows overall gains. However, Superintendent John White says the reporting system does not fully reflect the gains made by many schools that are making great progress, particularly with low-achieving students.

A Sacramento, Calif., charter school turned the tables on HBO’s John Oliver, answering his recent anti-charter school rant with a video of their own. The video featured school-age children telling viewers why they don’t want anyone coming in to take their education away. Natomas Charter School’s video was the winning submission in a $100,000 contest from the Center for Education Reform named the “Hey John Oliver! Back off my charter school.” http://bit.ly/2feM2Wz
