Good Morning

The majority of schools in south Louisiana, including those in the Lake Charles, Lafayette and metro-New Orleans areas, are closed today due to tropical storm Harvey.

Big school choice news yesterday in Illinois and Wisconsin:
The Illinois House passed a tax credit scholarship program and a charter funding equity bill that is going to be voted on today in the Senate. Also, Wisconsin’s Joint Finance Committee voted to raise the income eligibility cap on the Wisconsin Parental Choice program from 185% to 220% of the federal poverty line, and to expand statewide independent charter school authorizers to include the Office of Educational Opportunity, any UW Chancellor, and any technical college district board.

Have a good day and stay dry. – Paul
