Louisiana Federation for Children Congratulates New BESE Leadership

The Louisiana Federation for Children, the state’s voice for educational choice, congratulates the newly elected leadership of Louisiana’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education – James Garvey, president; Kira Orange Jones, vice president; and Sandy Holloway, secretary-treasurer.

“During his nearly two decades on the board, Jim Garvey has always been a champion for families and children. Our state faces daunting challenges, including COVID-19 and natural disaster recovery, and the enactment of accountability reforms. I am confident this new leadership team will meet them head on,” said Ann Duplessis, President of the Louisiana Federation for Children.

“We congratulate BESE’s new leadership team and look forward to working together to advance Louisiana’s K-12 education reforms and school choice options that make it possible for every child in Louisiana to receive an education that best meets their needs,” said Kaleb Moore, Louisiana Federation for Children Director of Government Affairs.
